Precisely engineered materials, a diverse mix of metal powders, are available for a wide range of P/M products. Generally, power mixes for compacting are of two types: Admixed powders, consisting of elemental alloying powders (copper, nickle, graphite, tin), which are added to base element powders (iron or copper), and Pre-alloyed powders, which are atomized from alloyed furnace metals. Each particle of Prealloyed powder is a complete system, requiring only die lubricants and, perhaps, graphite additions before compacting.
